Member Profiles
We here at SWE UML are very proud of all of our members. From internships to studies abroad, our members have done it all.
There is no way we could list all of their many accomplishments, so here are just a few of our current members' successes.

Caitlin HansonCaitlin, a plastics engineering student at UML, spent the summer interning at SC Johnson in Michigan working with engineers to improve the eminent Ziploc bag. She earned this opportunity through networking at the 2014 SWE National Conference in Los Angeles, California. Prior to this, she worked as an engineering lab assistant for the US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center as part of UML's Scholar Co-op Program. When she is not studying, she can be found planning events for her Girl Scouts Daisy Troop which she leads with two other students from UMass Lowell's Honors College.

Emily Boehm |
Emily Boehm, a biological/ chemical engineering student with a biomedical engineering minor, spent the last two summers completing a laboratory research co -op here at UML. She worked on a joint project with the Chemical Engineering and Plastics Engineering department, developing advanced nanocomposites for use in 3D printing and beyond. She was able to present her findings at UMass Lowell's Next Generation 3D Printing Workshop to professionals and researchers in the plastics industry from across the country. Along with her involvement as co-secretary of SWE, she is also a part of the Honors College at UML. She was selected as an Ambassador for UMass Lowell's Honors Ambassadors Council. |
Jacqui NoelFlamanville Nuclear Power Plant, Andra’s underground research laboratory, Andra’s industrial facility for grouping, storage and disposal, the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). Jacqui is a junior at UMass Lowell studying nuclear engineering. She traveled to France this summer through the University of Pittsberg's study abroad program where she studied the French Nuclear Energy Power Cycle. Through that course, she had the opportunity to visit Jacqui is currently co-secretary of SWE UML. She was also selected as an Ambassador for UMass Lowell's Honors Ambassadors Council. Along with juggling these two leadership roles with her busy course schedule, she is also a member of AIChE, the professional society for chemical engineers.

Irini BilliriIrini, a former president of SWE UML, is a mechanical engineering major at UMass Lowell. Currently, she serves as both event coordinator and chair of stress relief for SWE UML. This past summer, she interned with Freudenberg Sealing Technologies as a project engineering intern. Previously, she spent a summer abroad in Germany studying mechanical and industrial engineering at Pforzheim University. In addition to being a dedicated student, Irini is also a great role model for young students interested in STEM. At UML, she worked as a student teaching intern, helping elementary and middle school students understand key physics concepts. She also volunteered at the Invent It. Build It. Workshop for Girl Scouts while at the 2013 SWE National Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
